Mission 18: Desperate Times

Mission:
Desperate Times
Team:
Veterans Preston Stormer and William Furno with rookies Julius Nex and Nathan Evo
Objective:
Stop Jetbug from freeing Nitroblast and Drilldozer as they try to make a desperate final offensive on Tanker Station 22.
Evo's Log:
With only Jetbug and his boss left we thought we had a excuse to divide are forces. These were, of course, desperate times for both sides and the Fire Villains were becoming very elusive. Breez and Surge were off on a scouting mission when our base we had established fell under attack by Jetbug. Since we were unable send the capture villains to Hero Factory prison due to issues with the Fire Villains constant attacks on our air support. That meant they had to remain here, and Jetbug was here to free them.
Nitroblast and Drilldozer had been freed and Breez and Surge had not returned from scouting yet. We were fighting with every bit of strength we had because if we didn't we'd be right back to square one again.
"Keep it up, your doing great." Furno said to me. It was mine and Nex's job to take down Nitroblast. His strong armour was making things hard but not impossible. We just had to keep up the fire and we'd eventually get though. Furno had been mine and Nex's training instructor since day one and he had been a great mentor to me. I had learnt that brute forces, as great as it is, can't win every battle. I had taken that on board and it sure had helped me before but I knew this was going to be the ultimate test and the mission that people would look back at in my later life as a veteran like Furno and Stormer. Okay, I may have pushed that a little bit but it could happen one day.
But right now I needed focus on the here and now and Stormer was in trouble. He had made a charge at Drilldozer after his long range attacks failed. The villain then knocked him down hard with one blow of his oversized drill.
"Hey ugly!" I shouted at Drilldozer and he looked at me without saying a word. Apparently, Stormer heard him talk once but after interrogating him a couple of times I find that hard to believe.
Now forget what I said earlier, brute force is the best method for this fight. I charged he tried to hit me with his smaller spike weapon. I was able to pray his strike and we then continued to trade blows.
I looked behind to see that Stormer had got himself back to safety and as aiding Nex in his attack on Nitroblast. Furno was trying to shot down Jetbug but the fire villain was to fast for him.
I then saw my chance and took a lucky shot from more or less point blank range and took him down. I was about to Hero-Cuff him when a wall of fire, created by Nitroblast, separated us.
Both Drilldozer and Nitroblast got away and Jetbug was about to follow when I did something I never knew I had in me. I ran and jumped at the wall, did a mid air somersault and placed a Hero-Charge on Jetbug's back and then landed safely on my own two feet.
"Ha!" Jetbug said in false victory. "You missed."
"Did I?" I said right as the Hero-Charge went off and he fell to the ground as the pulse took out his jetpacks.
"Nice work Evo, all of you." Stormer congratulated half-heartedly. "I just received a message from Breez and she says she found the Fire Lords position, no doubt were Nitroblast and Drilldozer ran off too. If we can get there first we can launch an ambush and end this battle once and for all."
"I hope so." I said to myself. "Because all of Hero Factory is counting on our success, and I'm going to do everything possible to not let them down."

2011 Villain Review: Nitroblast

Hi,
I got Nitroblast the same time my brother got Evo 2.0 and I am really happy that I got him because he is, in my opinion, the best villain and possibly the best set so far this year. As always I'm starting with...

...the Build. It was fairly similar to Jetbug with the new building system. Unlike the Hero's the builds have more uniqueness on the villains so there's a new one every time. A unusual building style for a set of this size is going double-up on the arm. I give the build a 10/10

Next is the New Pieces and a cool recolour is the body piece in red. There is also the new flame piece which I believe I discussed in the review of Jetbug. The double sided face which has Nitroblast on one side and Jetbug on the other and I will get into the effect of that on the design part. On the back of him there is a piece that was used on Meltdown as one of his toxic waste tanks except this time it seems to be supplying flammable gas or liquid to the flame-thrower. The new pieces are pretty generic over these new sets so I am giving it a total of 9/10

The Design was excellent and is getting a high rating on my part. The head looks great and you may be wondering what I think of Jetbug's face on the back and I don't actually mind it that much. Its because it has a short and small look to it and it blends in with the other red colours on the back that its easy to over look the fact that its there. The double-up arm also adds a lot of bulk to the character and although it makes the articulation a bit more of a challenge I think it makes the character look a whole lot better. The one bad part I would point out is the light-gray piece on the doubled-up arm which stands out in a bad way. I'm just going to bring up the problem of the hollow back as well because that's down side to the new building system but I hope LEGO will soon come up with a solution but for now the Design gets a 9/10

Playability is mainly explained in some other review but the Lava Sphere shooter increases it by one mark so I give it a 7/10

I think that overall this is a great set and deserves a high rating but there are a few flaws, like the hollow back, but that only marks it down one mark bringing about a overall total of 9/10

Thanks for reading this review of Nitroblast and I hope you enjoyed it and the next post will be the long awaited 6th part of Mission 2.0 which will be told from the perspective of Evo. Please comment on what you think of Nitroblast or any other Hero Factory related topic you want to discus and follow this blog if you haven't already if you want to read more Hero Factory reviews when I post them. That was the longest ending ever so time to end it by saying have a nice day,

2011 Hero Review: Evo 2.0

Hi,
Its been a while since I've done a review but me a my brother recently got a new set each and I'm starting off with my brothers set, Evo 2.0,and in the next post I'll move onto mine, Nitroblast. Evo looks really good and I can tell why he's my brothers favourite. As always with a set that belongs to my brother he will be adding in his opinion towards the end but first lets get the main review done...

The build was very good compared to the old hero's from 2010 but with the new ones I say that once you've built one you've built them all, they are quite similar so I'm going 8/10

Now for new pieces, a lot of them have been seen in other sets this year just with different colours but there is a piece I haven't seen before and its a piece of armour in a medium size, smaller than the hero badge but bigger than fairly common small ones. There is also the visor piece which is in a dark-silver and has vents towards the front and give a square jawed tough feel which fits his character in the story behind the sets. He also has rubber like spikes in a silver colour rather than the blue seen on Stormer 2.0 and that's really it for new pieces, my rating is 10/10

Onto the design which has its pros and cons. From the front he looks great and really bulked up but at the back it all hollow which takes it down a mark or two. But the colour scheme is new and looks really good with the yellow which is lighter than Jetbug's and purple which is hardly ever seen in LEGO. Because of those reasons I am going to give the design a 8/10

Playability is the same with all other Hero's in 2011, no shooting mechanism, just the excellent articulation which the 2010 Hero's lacked. I'm giving the playability a 6/10

Overall, he's awesome and if you haven't got him yet then your missing out. The colour scheme comes together really well and character of is shown really well through the pieces that are used. Overall, Evo gets a very high rating of 9/10

Next review is Nitroblast but we've still got my brother opinion so lets get onto that now. I said it before and I will say it again, if you haven't got him then your missing out. Please comment and follow,

Evo 2.0 Opinion
Hi,
Above is my review of Evo 2.0 and since this is my brothers set its time to get his opinion on it. I gave him a overall rating of 9/10 and now it time to see what he gives him...

A great thing about him is that the weapon uses the shield piece in a different way to Stormer 2.0, Furno 2.0 and Nex 2.0. I also like the purple on him which goes well with the yellow used on him. He is so good that I can't think of anything bad about him so he gets a amazing 10/10

I hope you enjoyed my review and my brother opinion of Evo 2.0 and I hope it helped you decide whether to add him to your collection or not. Please comment and follow,

Hero Recon Team: Matt Freeze

A rookie who was built to join the Hero Recon Team. After his basic training at the HeroFactory, he was hand picked by Andrew Forge to join the Recon Team. He began with a lot of long distance recon or noting down the findings in the wanted list. He eventually got closer and closer to some action and then finally got a long awaited fight when a group of villains attacked a coal mine in search of a highly explosive material. The Recon team were sent in to stop the villains or at least slow them down until backup arrives. Until then, their on their own in a dark mine were explosions, cave ins and notorious villains await them. Is this Freeze's time to shine?
